Nadrid
House itself is a fine example of Georgian Architecture, which has
been sensitively restored, retaining many original features, including
a splendid Adams fireplace. In Nadrid you can experience the graciousness
of the past combined with all the comforts of the present.
All bedrooms are en-suite and most also have baths for that extra
touch of luxury. There are excellent views of the lake, gardens or
enclosed courtyard from all the bedrooms and the house itself is tastefully
furnished in keeping with its age and style. |
 |
| At
Nadrid we offer an evening meal several evenings a week by arrangement.
We also have a small kitchen available for guests to use if you prefer
to eat in some evening. |
 |
The
5 acres of gardens stretch along the banks of the lake and
are a delight to explore. There are wooded areas with a wide
variety of trees, some older than the house itself, with natural
tunnels leading to unexpected, secluded spots and to mature
and spectacular displays of floral rhododendrons. There is
a walled garden, a place of great peace and tranquillity where
you can enjoy the heady scent of 100-year-old roses.
You can relax or play croquet on several lawns throughout
the garden.

|
To
the rear of the house is an enclosed courtyard containing
a pond with some rare and exotic water lilies, and our Polish
Bantam hens, which provide fresh eggs for your breakfast.
